EBR 1190 RX/SX Chain Line Alignment Kit by NCCR

Notice: Since 2024 we does not supply the spacer bushing in the kit anymore, as it turned out that machining down the original bushing to the correct individual measured length is the best solution. That way we could prevent the the kit also from price adjusments. THE PROBLEM Some EBR 1190 eat up chain sliders. The cause comes from not correct installed swing arm bearings and incorrect manufactured front sprockets by the factory. Extra ordinary wear of components up to damaged swingarms is the result. THE FIX 1. Swing Arm Bearing Position and Spacer Both swing arm bearings and the incorrect manufactured bearing spacer will be replaced with new bearings and the spacer need to be shortened (spacer not anymore supplied with the kit). The right hand side, original 14mm wide bearing will be replaced by a 16mm wide bearing. 2. Determine Front Sprocket Chain Line Position With help of the with this kit supplied gauge set, we investigate the individually sprocket position. With that information we can calculate (Tabs with the kit) if and in case it is needed, what shim size need to be installed on the left swingarm bearing contact patch to the engine case. 3. Test Mount And Check With the swing arm mounted to the engine and the axle torqued after specs, we measure with the in the kit supplied laser tool the chain line. Repeat the shim procedure if necessary. 4. Adjusting Idler Gear There is a chance that the idler gear position need to be corrected in the chain line. With help of the laser tool we identify the position and correct it with the in the kit supplies shims. 5. Checking Chain Slider Clearance Last thing is to double check that the chain is running in a correct position to the plastic chain slider. THE KIT, includes: -Sprocket position measurement gauge set 24, 24.5, 25, 25.5, 26, 26.5, 27mm -14 and 16mm swing arm bearings (SKF or similar quality) -Shim set for swing arm positioning 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2mm (not pictured) -Bushing and Shims to correct idler gear position (not pictured) -Laser chain line alignment tool. Also in general handy to adjust chain tension to make sure rear wheel is straight set. -Detailed measuring, mounting and trouble shooting instructions EDIT: Now there is an option for multi bike owners, or if you like to share the tools with a friend, to order additional kits for a reduced price without the laser tool and the sprocket measurement gauge set. IMPORTANT NOTICE: I. There might be circumstances at your specific bike, like a front sprocket with an unusual very much to the left running chain position, where a correct chain line might be not possible. In that case you need to buy a correct front sprocket from the manufacturer. II. With the swing arm bearings proper installed and the chain line corrected, at some bikes it might be possible that the rear shock is touching the sub frame. As many RX got delivered like that by EBR, this should be not a safety issue. If you have the issue and look for a solution, we offer an Wilbers rear shock with a smaller spring diameter to gain at that point additional clearance.
